How to Apply ALT Positions

Basic Job Requirements

(A) Necessary Requirements

1. Native speaker of English
2. Minimum 3-year college/university degree
   
   
   

(B) Preferred Requirements

1. Be positive, flexible, hardworking, self-motivated and disciplined.
2. Experience leading large groups (20-40) of school aged children.
3. Enjoys teaching elementary and junior high school aged children.
4. Be able to plan enjoyable, quality lessons for Elementary and Junior High classes.
5. Have a basic understanding of written and spoken Japanese.
6. Experience living overseas for 2 years or more.
7. Studied at a Japanese university as an exchange student.
8. Able to overcome any cultural barriers.
9. Meets at least one of the conditions below, (a) to (c):

1. Minimum of one (1) year of consistent ESL teaching experience.
2. Minimum of three (3) years of consistent teaching experience in a public or private school.
3. Qualified with TESOL / TEFL / CELTA certification within the last six months.
