ABC PLUS Benefits
Accommodation
- You will be provided with a private, semi-furnished apartment. The
teacher is responsible for paying the rent (50,000 yen - 65,000 yen
per month) and utilities. The school will pay key money, deposits
and real estate agent fees.
- Furniture provided in the apartment will consist of: Futon (bedding),
a refrigerator, a gas range, a washing machine, an air conditioner,
light fittings, and cooking utensils.
- You will be responsible for paying any damages incurred during your
time in the apartment.
Remuneration
- The basic salary is 250,000 yen per month.
- On completion of your one-year contract, you will receive a completion
bonus. The minimum bonus for one year is 100, 000. However, a teacher's
bonus can reach a maximum of 200,000, depending on one's schedule,
as the bonus is based on your average number of classes for the year.
This is designed to help cover the cost of airfares or relocation,
and to reward your hard work!
Holidays
- Paid holidays are predetermined. Holidays are approximately six
weeks per year; two weeks in December and one in May, July, August
and late October.
Training, Materials and Feedback
- ABC PLUS will provide one week of training with the head teacher,
plus one month of one-the-job training where you will meet weekly
with the ABC PLUS head teacher to discuss any questions and to receive
feedback.
- ABC PLUS will hold monthly meetings for staff where they can share
ideas and techniques. Lesson ideas (including activities such as songs,
games, how to make students enthusiastic in the class) will be shared,
which help teachers build on the quality of their lessons.
- ABC PLUS will do its utmost to provide teachers with any materials
or books needed for their classes.
- ABC PLUS will help teachers solve any problems they may have.
